Have you got a friend that loves travelling? Or a travel buddy? An international pal? These gift ideas are sure to wow anyone who has been a victim of the travel bug. They are thoughtful, unique, and useful!
For the Feminine Traveller
Travel Jewellery Boxes
Travelling with jewellery can be SUCH a pain! Necklaces get tangles, earrings get lost, etc. Sometimes, it just seems so much easier to skip jewellery all together. However, when you’re short on luggage space (or weight) as most travellers are, then jewellery is a great way to add variation to a limited wardrobe.
There are so many great options for jewellery storage that are both functional and trendy. Here are a few of my favourites:
I stumbled upon this brand in a cute little shop and was immediately smitten with the practical, chic jewellery boxes.
There products are great quality and they are so well thought out. I actually own a full set at home: the classic jewellery box is on my dresser!
You can continue buying different sections and layers that all fit together perfectly. So satisfying!
Here is a picture of one of the travel sized boxes and here is the link if you’d like to purchase it!
There are loads of different colours and shapes so you can get exactly what you need (or what your friend needs, as this is a gift, but hey, not judging if you get one for yourself, too!).
While Stackers offers loads of options, necklaces are tricky and so easily tangle.
Luckily, necklace travel organisers exist and they are THE BEST!
The first I saw of these sweet inventions was at Oliver Bonas (SUCH a cute store, if you’ve never heard of it!).
Sidebar: Oliver Bonas also has loads of cute little trinkets, books, cards, jewellery, purses…etc. So check it out for other great Christmas gift ideas! Love that store!
However, I will admit that some of their items are priced higher than what I’d ideally like to pay (gotta love a good deal). So if you are looking for something a little more affordable, check out the option from amazon below:
For the Masculine Traveller
Cufflinks are such a great gift anyways, but these ‘map’ cufflinks are so unique and super spiffy.
The ones in the link above are the same ones my husband ordered for all of his ushers/groomsmen as gifts for our wedding. We had a travel theme wedding so it was perfect!
Also, they are customisable: each groomsmen had map locations that were personal to him. My husband’s have my hometown on one and his on the other. So sweet!
Plus, they look hella classy.
For *any* Traveller
A classic: the neck pillow!
This travel pillow is especially useful for that really picky person. Anybody can use one of these on a plane, train, long car ride, etc.
Not only is a portable phone charger handy and convenient, it is a safety precaution! It makes me feel so much more comfortable (especially when I am on my own) to know that I will have access to my phone – to call for company or help, to look up directions, etc. Even better if I know that I can charge my phone up if it dies when I really need it!
Travel pictures are the best pictures! Help your friend or loved one capture the moments with a camera that prints out images instantly. The nostalgia of this technology is so fun!
This National Park Annual Pass is amazing! It is on the expensive side ($80), but it allows access to all of the National Parks in the US – those entry fees add up so this is the best way to save money if you’re going to do a lot of travelling in one year.
It covers entry fees for over 2,000 locations! My husband and I got one before taking a massive road trip in the US. We went to Yellowstone, the Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Zion, Arches, the Grand Canyon – all covered by the pass!
Take a look at the national park website for more information.
Whether it is a travel journal, a little scrapbook, or some stationary for writing letters home – nothing beats good ol’ pen and paper! The nostalgia!
Plus, you will be giving a gift for years to come; looking back at what I’ve written about previous travels years after the fact is so interesting!
Scratch off Map
My husband and I have one of these in our house and we love scratching off a new place every time we travel. We got ours as a gift, too!
It’s especially interesting to see how concentrated our spread out your travels are and it has inspired me to travel further afield! This is definitely a fun Christmas gift for any travel lover.
Travel Toiletries Set
Little bottles are so necessary for a travel lover. Especially one who travels on a budget (carry on luggage only = limited liquids in a small bag!).
Keep your eyes peeled for a cute, handy set like the one pictured. Your travel loving friend will be so thankful for the organised little kit!
Loads of stores are starting to sell cute versions of these sets (H&M, Forever21, Primark, etc.) but of course you can just have a look online, as well! There are definitely some more masculine and neutral options available.
Contrary to popular belief, a good pair of headphones does not need to be super expensive.
My husband and I each bought a pair like these for just around 20 quid each! He got the blue and black ones, and I got the rose gold.
They are so much more comfortable than the kind that go in your hears, they work wirelessly or can be plugged in, and they even have the option to connect to the radio.
While they are not totally noise-cancelling, they do block out unwanted noises enough for me!
Luggage and Luggage Organisers
If you’re willing to spend a little more, why not get your travel loving loved one a function-made travel backpack? This backpack looks incredible – it has a pocket for every purpose and it even has a strap to conveniently loop onto a suitcase handle.
It comes in so many colours, as well!
This company also makes some pretty sweet looking packing cubes to make condensing and organising super easy.
However, if you are looking for a more affordable option, amazon sells loads of packing cubes (see photo and link for an extensive set at a great price – that comes in many colours and patterns!).
Gift giving is such a great opportunity for showing you care and you know someone’s interests!
There are so many inspiring ideas for someone who has a passion for travel! Consider where they’ve been, what they love about those places, or perhaps even where they are from. You could get them a custom item that represents some place special to them – Etsy is great for stuff like that.
For example, I got my dad a wooden cut out of Wisconsin (my home state) that has loads of little holes in it for beer bottle caps. He hung it on the wall in his in-home bar. There are also smaller state/country shaped items like necklaces or bracelets or key chains – a piece of home that can go with them as they travel new places!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
